Frustrations!

For the past 1 month plus I’ve been at work, I keep on wondering every day what and how much I have accomplished since then. The truth is I’ve learnt something like 3 % of everything. That’s just something I cannot accept especially when I am the kind of person who lives up to being on the run and productive whenever I am at.

I’m frustrated that the only job I’ve been doing since coming here is to work on the documentation of the project a.k.a document reviewer/reader/editor for some lousy English grammar/vocabs someone else had made. It sucks when at the very beginning I came in here, I was hoping to learn as much as I could within my 1 year tenure as a Java developer. As much as I don’t really fancy that much on programming / staring away at codes, I’m beginning to hate more on doing review works and making umpteenth times of amendments on some really fucked-up system functional design of a really fucked-up system. I don’t think I’m going to enjoy doing the development (coding) on this system.

It sucks not being able to perform. It sucks not to be able to show your potential. It sucks when I end up doing someone else’s job. It sucks that you get to shake leg and get paid for it. Trust me it sucks. It sucks no being able to move yourself forward as though being directionless. It just plain sucks.

This is fun!!

It is a whole lot of fun when:

1. I get to merayap and merayap and merayap until I can't do it any more.
2. I get to go mamaking with a bunch of old friends just laughing away and talk on crappies we used to have during those days and talking about our career life.
3. I get to hit a pail and left myself with an infected open wound for weeks and I get to blame the pail owner for my injuries. Haha.
4. I get to go to the movies at night or enjoy late night movies on almost every week.
5. I get to be myself by acting crazy in the office and I don't give shit if you like it or not. Haha.
6. I get to live by my principal of "Flirting is not a crime" with new people who have met me...That's the most interesting part really..haha...
7. I always have friends to help me when I need help. Thanks guys...
8. I get to meet new people and learn a lot every day.

Some words of thoughts

No.1:

Q: How much does money really worth?
A: Money only worth the amount of expenses spent to produce it. That means the cost of printing and paper. Money will only be worth it or of value once you begin to SPEND it. In other words, money is worth it when spent. That's where the value of money lies.

No.2:

Opportunity is always there. It moves alongside time. Imagine opportunity like a moving window. The opportunity is only worth once you jump yourself on the every moving windows and make the most of it. Opportunity is always there, it's a matter of you jumping for the opportunity.

* The above remarks was said to be told by Tun Mahathir himself.

That's what I'd learnt so far with the new job I have.

Erk..eeeekk!!

I've just moved out from the house (my parents place) this week and I think that I need to get another proper house to really settle in. By the way, I'm at the office right now on a bloody weekend. Hehehe..I don't hate this because I don't actually have any plans for this weekend, so going to this office is part of an activity to do. At least, I'm doing something, right!

So..about my current new place. I'm renting at a very cheap price and it's 5 minutes away from the office. That's the plus point. The cons are, I'm telling you, they overwhelm the plus points and that's bad! The cons:
1. I'm sharing a room and I don't think I can get a descent sleep when the other person snores. No offence if you are reading this but no, I can't get any sleep unless, I'm dead tired and sleep like a log or I end up sleeping at the living room (just like what I always do when I'm at my parents). The conclusion is I can never share a room. Not now though. Erm..it's a whole different story once I'm married okay! Hahaha.

2. The housing area is pretty noisy.
3. Finding a parking lot is a misery. One needs to double park and move your car earl y in the morning to give way to the car you have doubled park at. You know what I mean if you are a true Malaysian. Double parking is the way of life. A sad fact but that's the truth.
4. Drying up clothes is a whole lot of trouble. I just wounded myself while hanging the clothes (climbing on the chair and hitting a sharp end at one of the pails, leaving a nasty scar for later..huhu).
5. It takes a lot of effort to dry up the clothes because the space is limited and the sun doesn't shine into the the drying area. The only place the sun light is in is at the living room. That leaves an option of 'Indon-like' ambience in the house when you have to hang-dry your clothes at the living room grails. No offence for Indons out there because from how I see it, the construction workers immigrants from Indonesia hang their clothes all over their little cabin because the place is pretty tight and limited.

So...I need a new place with proper parking lot, at least some other facilities like a swimming pool or gym, nice and quiet, a balcony for drying clothes and a room of my own. I need to start searching and at the mean time, I'm stuck to where I am right now. Living like a nomad. Damn it.

Other than that, work is fine. But I don't really fancy the idea of coming to the office and writing my blog on a Saturday.;)

So...we bumped into a good samaritan...

A few nights back, me and my partner in crime(Frick; we've been committing petty crimes since we were 13 years old, haha) drove all the way to Shah Alam so that we could help another old partner (Naz) to move out to her new place and later catch a late night movie (Night at the Museum). So that was the initial plan.

After fueling up and bought ourselves dinner from the drive through, Frick drove on Mr.Blue(her dad's light blue Toyota. Okay, the car's color is a wee bit like a 'kel-ing' color, so I always make fun of it you see.Hehe). We past through the highway and was about to approach Giant (somewhere in S.Alam), when suddenly we saw smoke coming out from under the hood. Dang, the car was overheated! All blames went to Frick for not checking out the water level of her dad's Mr.Blue. Anyways, panic set aside, and so does blame and regrets, we made a safe u-turn to the nearest Project station we saw some 80 meters back.

I've never experienced overheating car before so any rational conclusion to solve the matter at hand, would be to fill up some water to cool down the engine. We got some water with us, attempted to open the hot radiator cap and started to fill up the tank. Well, Frick did most of the hard work while I was trying to make myself busy texting Naz that we were going to be late. Hehe.

There and then, I saw a guy coming closer to us, watching at Frick filling up the tank.He kept coming closer and started to make some gestures. Something like as if he's trying to say,"Kete overheat ker?Bubuh air ek?". Thank God he didn't ask that standard silly question. But the weird part is that, this guy never speaks. After a few moments, we figured out through telepathy reading that this guy is merely trying to help. We asked some questions like how much more we need to fill the tank up, and how much longer we should wait until we start the car again and all we got was some sign language answers where ironically I could comprehend pretty darn well. Frick was left in utter confusion most of the time, because she understood zero from the 'conversation'.

20 minutes later or so, the car was good to go.We found out later that the guy is actually a mute and his name is Faizal. Hehe. He actually typed words from his hand phone so that Frick and I could understand what he was trying to say. Yet again, I am still skeptical whether or not he is really a mute and the fact that he's hanging around that area at 11ish pm for what reason? So that he could help some silly gals who had an overheated car???

Thank God, no one trailed us back when we headed out from that Project so we figured that he was sincere in helping us and probably he was waiting for a friend to be there or something.

Off we went to help out Naz with her tonnes of stuffs, mostly, I could only guess were junks (hehe) and stuffed all of them in the car. We headed straight towards the cinema which I later found out that Bukit Raja is actually in Klang (wtf? haha)and we couldn't watch Night at the Museum because our reserved seats got sold and we ended up watching that darn Eragon in that freezing cinema. I had my burger in the early 30 minutes of the movie and later dozed off until everyone was about ready to get their butts out of the cinema. Such a waste of money that was! We walked back to the car and made three trips of heavy loads bags plus junks up the 4th floor of Naz's new flat and headed straight home at 2ish am.

All in all, it was one heck of an adventure! Yes, I call that an adventure and the fact that at the middle of nowhere, we got a 'bisu',not so bad looking guy to help us out was definitely the highlight of the day!

P.S: I got to watch Night at the Museum with my sis today. That movie is really hilarious & I love it to bits!

Cars Chronology!

I know it's a brand new year, so, Happy New Year everyone. Oh well, it's just like any other day for me and nothing is extravagantly new or anything. Hmm...wait! Of course there's something new today.

For the first time, I was traveling in that Kelisa all the way from Sitiawan to KL. All in all, not bad for a small car. So far, it's running good. On average, it runs fairly well at 110km/h. You need to grip more at the steering wheel when you are reaching 120-130km/h. But, it's a pain driving on the left lane of the highway. Most Malaysians don't really know how to drive within the speed limit so I ended up having to switch lanes all the way through. It would have been a different story if I was driving our former Mr.Wes ( that 190e is on sale like a hot cake) or that BMV (like the Deutsch will pronounce it) or that Perdana V6.Anyways, that new baby of mine (hehe..baby eh?)is definitely a good bargain, very economical rather than that Mercedes I used to drive around, efficient, practical and a perfect match for me (in terms of my size and the car's size.. .hehe).I'm hoping to not have anymore car dramas with this one and because I'm paying some good amount of money for it each month, it better perform and be loyal to me! Hahaha. For once, I'm driving a tiny car and hopefully no more parking problems for me.

For the past few years since I've had my driving license, these are the cars I had been driving:
2004 : Mercedes Benz 250e (Automatic)
2002 - present : Volvo 240 (from Manual to Automatic, overhaul engine, upgraded from 2.1L to 2.3L..damn, that car is a power machine)
2005-2006 : Mercedes Benz 190E ('92/'97,Automatic, a pain in the ass at times and has no pick-up at all. But with its sun-roof and sporty skirting, it's pretty sheek and it's a rare make in Msia and that's why it's a hot-cake!)
2006 - present : Kelisa ( Automatic, less than a 1000cc, a no match with any of the cars I've driven.Hohoho!)
Once in a blue moon ride : BMW 3 series (1992?? Ich viese nicht. Das Auto kommt aus Deutschland wann meine Vater arbeiten in Hamburg. It's 'Jerman-mali lah senang cakap'!!)
Soon : BMW Mini Cooper or any Japan make cars or sport cars.

P.S: I really love cars because of the adrenaline I can get from driving behind the wheels!
