All in all, I'm left with either black/green tea minus the milk and sugar for breakfast. I may need to sip down on my favorite Vietnam drip coffee one of these days sans sugar and milk of course. I can also have eggs for breakfast and lots of veggies along with fresh fruits. No fruit juices in the box allowed and not even my probiotic drink Yakult. Yakult is laden with sugar in order to provide food for the bacteria so yeah, no Yakult at least for the next 9 days.
So far as of Day 1, I am doing fine without the sugar. The only sugar I'm getting is probably from my rice - carbs turning into glucose; I believe that's how the process goes and I'm also getting some sugar from fruits. I had some salmon for breakfast earlier today and I thought it tasted somewhat sweet. Hmm...Other than that, to avoid sugar cravings, I guess the green tea is helping a lot. And did you know that black or green tea sans sugar and milk, can help to reduce cavity. It's best to drink it after meals so that the bad bacteria won't be having a ball eating away on the sugars lingering around the teeth. And of course, sugar is the number one cause for cavity and bad teeth.
You may be wondering, why am I doing a sugar detox? The reason is simple. Sugar has been wrecking havoc on my system. Hence, the most I can do to care for my own body that God has given me is to slowly start eliminating junk from coming inside the body. Also, I've been reading a lot of articles and watching videos from Dr. Mark Hyman who is the one who introduced the 10 - Day Sugar Detox Diet. I have learned that having sugar cravings is an addiction and being a sugar addict is far worse than a cocaine addict. Sugar has also been described by Dr. Hyman as a 'recreational drug' while others claimed sugar as white poison and henceforth.
